About the Author



Jennifer Artis, born in 1957, grew up with her sister, Jan and their loving parents, Alden and Joann in California. In 1980 she earned a B.A. in Business from Fresno State and landed her first job as an Operation Officer at Bank of America. In 1981, she married her best friend, Winthrop (Art) Artis and they recently celebrated their 30-year Anniversary.  In 1981, they started Winthrop Farming Co. (hogs and almonds) for 15 years. They raised three wonderful children, Lavonne, Austin and Shea all the way through college at U.C.S.B.  In 1989, Ms. Jennifer opened Excel Preschool for 14 years in their home town of Porterville. There she gained patience and understanding which proved invaluable when she took on the commitment of caring for her Mother with Alzheimer’s disease.
